Accent & dialect coaching
I provide personal dialect coaching for actors wishing to learn to speak in an American accent in preparation for an audition or role, or to develop the skill to expand your portfolio. I can also help you improve your English if needed while doing the accent work.
The coursework is based around structured lessons where you'll apply techniques for accent work and specifically doing a convincing American accent. The sessions are made up of technical work (sounds, oral posture, intonation, etc.), integration (putting it into practice), and exercises and activities designed to help you achieve a natural sounding "sound stream" at the word, sentence and performance level.
Course duration: I recommend at least 12 sessions (usually 1.5 hours each) to cover the scope of the accent training. Supplemental practice (materials and recordings are provided) is an essential part of the program.
On-set dialect coaching: I provide preproduction training and on-set coaching for actors requiring an American accent for a role.
